We sincerely regret to announce the Shivalokaprapthi of Brahmashri Yagneshwara Dikshitar last evening ~830 PM in Dallas, following a cardiac arrest. Shri Dikshitar Mama, as he was affectionately known, was visiting his students in Dallas, breaking away from the cold weather at his hometown Chicago.
Born in Kalady, Mama was an accomplished Vedic scholar par excellence. He will be deeply missed not only in the chicago area where he has been a central figure at all our functions over past 10 years, but also by the many Sanatana Dharma followers all over the world, including USA, New Delhi and Singapore, where he lived for many years and the numerous shishyas he has taught and groomed over the years. A central figure at many of the Yagams, Kumbhabhishekams and other spiritual functions around the country, his deep passion to explain in plain and simple words the significance of our Vedic ceremonies, traditions and practices in the form of simple Upanyasams will be badly missed. Mama's contributions to Sanatana Dharma, especially in the USA, and his unwavering commitment to the spread of the Vedic culture in this far-away land from home are going to be hard to replace. His unexpected demise is a big loss to our entire community. We sincerely pray for the departed soul.
Shri Mama was 80 years old and it was not our bhagyam to conduct his Sadabhishekam in a grand Vedic manner, being planned for June of next year. He is survived by Mami, children and grand children.
