Stacey Buckner, Off-Road Outreach
Tax deductible
CNN Heroes 2023
In 2008, at 28 years old, Stacey Buckner suffered a stroke and nearly died. As she struggled to regain speech and motor skills, she began doing outreach work, filling basic needs of homeless veterans in her hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Buckner’s efforts grew into her Off-Road Outreach program. Using her own off-road vehicle -- a Jeep that has accommodations for water, heating, and cooking – she provides mobile showers, laundry services, and meals. Since 2015, she has helped more than 1,000 veterans.
PLEASE NOTE: ServiceSource North Carolina is a US-based nonprofit that is accepting donations on behalf of Off-Road Outreach. All donations are tax-deductible in the U.S. and will be forwarded to Off-Road Outreach.
