Stacey Garrett's Medical Costs

Hi, my name is Lynn Carlotto. I'm posting to help out our friend and colleague, Stacey Garrett, as she begins to deal with a lifechanging medical diagnosis. Let me share with you how Stacey’s world has changed since late August along with a link for you to help.

Unexpectedly, Stacey began having bouts of numbness, pain, and other strange physical sensations. Over the course of a brief 6-week period, these episodes blended together and completely erased Stacey's normal life. Easily the most physically capable and accomplished bad a*s I know, Stacey was no longer able to function without excruciating pain or the normal use of her hands and feet. Following numerous doctor appointments and specialized tests, Stacey was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis is a lifelong disease that is not fully understood by the medical community. The disease effects each patient differently and there is no singular or guaranteed treatment. Fortunately, an incredible and compassionate doctor is treating Stacey and an aggressive treatment program has begun. Not surprisingly, even with insurance, these treatments are very costly. While complementary therapies such as massage and acupuncture can help to alleviate symptoms, these therapies also add more expenses on top of the already steep medical costs.

Knowing that extreme stress comes with the diagnosis, and that stress negatively impacts MS patients, our support will greatly help Stacey in ways both seen and unseen. The funds raised will help to pay for the portion of Stacey’s care not covered by insurance along with additional treatments like massage and acupuncture that help with the symptoms.
