Stacey's "New" Heart

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I am fundraising on behalf of my cousin Stacey.

As many of you know, Stacey is a warrior who refuses to quit, and for that, we are all blessed.

Stacey is a 4-time cancer survivor who needs a heart and kidney transplant. She is currently in Edmonton, AB, recovering in the ICU after a successful left ventricular assist device (LVAD) surgery. This surgery was necessary to keep her heart functioning until she can get the needed transplant surgeries. Stacey now needs to live in Edmonton, close to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, which is over 700km from her home in Regina, SK. Doctors expect Stacey to remain in Edmonton until April 2023. Stacey's loved ones are currently renting an apartment nearby, where Stacey will also live once she is discharged from the hospital. As an amputee, Stacey's journey to recovery and transplant(s) will not be easy, but anyone who knows her knows she's got this.

Money raised will help to offset the cost of; rent, doggy daycare, gas, and food for Stacey and her support system while they are in Edmonton. She will also require special medical bandages that are not covered by insurance for the rest of her life.
