Stacy Holmes' Kidney Transplant Journey

Donation protected

As some know and some may not, it has been on my heart to share this as some have asked how they can help. I was waiting on the "right" time to share, and it's apparent, the time is now.

My Bro-n-Love, Stacy Holmes is beginning his kidney transplant journey. If you didn't know he's just been put on the kidney transplant list thru Methodist recently as his kidneys are failing as he's in stage 5 kidney failure, which his long covid in 2021 where he almost died, has played a tremendous part in affecting his kidneys and lungs greatly. It seems to be worsening by the day/ week. My sister texted me this today:

Stacy is starting to have more symptoms of kidney failure. He is scheduled to get his port placed for peritoneal dialysis on May 10th. He's burping and it tastes bad and smells like ammonia. His kidneys aren't getting rid of the urea. And his knees and ankles have been swelling also from all the fluid.

If you feel in your heart that you could help my family (Stacy & Monica) out, they would be so grateful and gracious. They don't know what this journey holds ahead, but they DO KNOW ONE THING...

Our God IS ABLE & IS IN CONTROL!!!

The hunt for a kidney donor is now underway. We pray a match sooner than later. And we pray for the ones volunteering to donate. We pray God blesses their hearts and their compassion.

Stacy (& Monica) will have to miss some work prior to the transplant, and for sure afterwards. He will have to go to Methodist 3-4 times a week for the first month after the transplant. The transplant alone is astronomical in cost, but the loss of wages when having to miss, gas, etc, etc. And if it's in the summer, Monica's off but if not, then she will be missing a lot of work also. Please if you cannot help out in any other way, prayers and encouragement are much needed and appreciated as much, but this has already begun to be a big financial burden. When he has the peritoneal port, alone their part is $2500-3k. God bless you GREATLY each one! Hugs and lots of love! Just please keep them lifted up extra as Stacy also lost his brother in the last few weeks to renal failure. May God strengthen Stacy and Monica thru this journey they are embarking on.
