Friends & Family Unite for Stacy!

Many of you may know my daughter-in-law, Stacy.  She's married to my oldest son, Heath and they live in Cabot, AR.  If you know Stacy, you already know that she is one of the most selfless, caring, giving-of-herself people you probably know.   is a special education teacher, and chose her profession because she genuinely has a heart for those who have special needs.  Over the years, she has been active in Arkansas Special Olympics and truly cares for others, always putting the needs of others before herself.   While she would never ask for help from others, finally has agreed to allow me to share her story, and ask for help on her behalf. In October 2016, Stacy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) which had metastasized to her lymph nodes.   While we feel she is getting some of the best care possible at UAMS in Little Rock, she was told that unfortunately, TNBC is a type of cancer in which there are no specific targets in which targeting drugs can be used to fight and destroy the cancer cells.   Her only option was traditional and very aggressive chemotherapy.   The plan was for Stacy to begin the first 12 rounds of chemo, then change to stronger chemo drugs and endure another 6 rounds of chemo, and then a double mastectomy.   In November 2016, she began her chemo and while she did suffer some side-effects, and endured three seperatemulti-day hospital stays, she made it through those 12 treatments.  She has now begun the much stronger round of chemo, in which the side-effects are extremely tough, and destroys her white-blood cell count.  A week ago she was hospitalized yet again for several days, but is now back home, thankfully.   She is surrounded by her husband, children, parents, friends and amazing coworkers who have done more than she could or would ever ask for.  Her faith in the Lord has shown through, and God has definitely shown up in a big way through her family and friends, she is truly blessed.    Still, as you can imagine, this journey is taking a physical and financial toll on Stacy and her family.  She has missed many days of work due to treatments and hospitalizations, been unable to work on days that she just cannot get out of bed due to the terrible side-effects, and these days result in lost wages.   Unfortunately, there will still be many more days missed as she moves through her journey.   As one would expect, the medical bills have begun to stack up, and the loss of pay due to missed work days will very soon mean that making regular monthly bills (mortgage, utilities, groceries, transportation, etc.) will be  difficult.   We are asking for many continued prayers, and compassionate  help with these every day expenses so that she and her family won't have to worry about that aspect of her care.  We hope that Stacy can focus only on beating this cancer and getting back to the life she loves and helping others.    Many people often say, "If there's anything I can do, let me know...", and now, we are hoping that the people that know her and have offered, will use this GoFundMe page as a way to help.  No donation is too small, $20 helps for a meal, gasoline or help pay a bill.   Thank you so much for your time in reading this and thank you in advance for your generosity!
