Stage 4 Cancer: Gayla's End-of-Life Support
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Melissa, I am the youngest child and MPOA of my mom Gayla Glander. On October 21, 2024 our world was turned upside down when I took her into the ER for shortness of breath. They ended up running a ton of tests including a CT scan and found cancer in her right lung and everywhere in her liver. A few days later we find out it’s already a stage 4 because it had spread. Further testing and they found 5 tumors in her brain. She got a PET scan a couple weeks later and those results were frightening, they found cancer on her spine, her neck and everywhere in her stomach. She was diagnosed with upper gi cancer, over the course of weeks her health has declined significantly. She started radiation on her brain but ended up getting sick and had to stop. Since then she has been in and out of the hospital, as of December 11, 2024 she has been placed on hospice to make her comfortable. Hospice says it can be a couple of days until she passes, or may be longer but with how bad things have gotten we are now on borrowed time. I’m asking for help due to her not having any life insurance and being on a fixed social security income. Anything and everything helps, I’m trying to gather enough to be able to get her cremated at the minimum. Thank you for reading this, hug your loved ones a little tighter for me as I navigate trying to stay strong for my mom in her final days.
