Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer invades lives
Donation protected
Hi everyone. My husband had not been feeling well since January. Gabriel got to the point where he couldn’t even walk a few steps and would be extremely exhausted. We knew something was not right. He was admitted into the hospital on February 22, 2024 and they gave us the horrible news that He was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He was very sick and ended up developing severe sepsis and his blood count was not good. He had to have a blood transfusion and they determined that he had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, they believed it was also in his bone marrow. Which it indeed was. This classified his cancer as being stage 4B. He had his first round of chemo in the hospital as they didn’t think that waiting would be a good option and he needed to be treated pretty much immediately due to his symptoms. He was in the hospital a little over 2 weeks and is now home for outpatient treatment. Things are going to get really bad financially for us, as he provided the most of our income. With him not being able to work and I had just started a new job in January, I haven’t been at my job for a 12 months so I do not qualify for FMLA. I’m not eligible to use any PTO because I haven’t even hit the 90 day mark at work either! My only option to take care of my husband is to take days without pay and even an unpaid leave of absence. This is going to make it hard to pay our house, utility bills, car & gas money, put groceries in the fridge, cleaning supplies, and even pay the medical bills and copays for the chemo and hospital treatments. I really don’t like to ask but we honestly could really use a lot of help!! We would truly be forever grateful!!!
