Cancer - urgent help needed

Hi there!

My name is Anelle, and I'm fundraising to cover medical bills.

My beautiful daughter and I moved to Australia in May 2022 with the view of giving my daughter a bright future in which she'll have opportunities to grow, explore and live life to the fullest. This was a dream of mine since 2014, and being a single mom, I worked long hours, funded the move myself, and I finally managed to come across. This is a dream come true in every way possible.

In May 2023 (this year), I was diagnosed with stage-4 breast cancer (spread to my liver), and the cancer type I have is very aggressive (HER2 3+) but can be controlled with many weeks of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, as a Visa holder/international patient, the medical treatment costs are exorbitant, and as a single parent, I am unable to carry all the costs on my own.

The treatment (cycle 1) includes three (3) very expensive infusions for which I need $7,000, 3-weekly, as well as weekly chemo infusions ($600+), specialists' consultation fees, frequent blood tests, scans and ultrasounds. A friend of mine has already paid the first $7,000 (1 of 3), but he will not be able to afford any more treatments as his business is not in a good place, financially. The next two infusions are on 1 Aug 2023 and 22 Aug 2023.

Truth be told, I have never used an online fundraising platform, so this is a very hard pill for me to swallow because I'm always self-sufficient/reliant person with a positive outlook on life...and this is the first time in my life that I am crying out for support - my daughter and I need your help.

For once I can relate to all the cancer patients out there, and I guess they too never thought it would happen to them, as I am feeling now. "Fighting for Cancer" events now bare a different meaning and I will be in full support of others in a similar situation by paying it forward in whichever way I possibly can.
