Stamford High School Beekeeping Club
Donation protected
I'm a high school science teacher and I am raising money to continue funding a beekeeping club for my students at Stamford High School in Stamford, CT. I'm a master beekeeper and beekeeping has been my passion for more than 10 years. I'd really love to share this educational and exciting experience with our students.
For the past two years, our students have been dealing with the challenges of d COVID 19. Unfortunately, we have had to take away many of the activities that make school fun and replaced them with homework on a computer screen. This has disconnected and frustrated many students, teachers, and parents. My hope is that a beekeeping club will offer students a connection to their education, the environment, and the natural world. The goal is to reignite their passion for learning and to create lifelong learners as we slowly return to normalcy.
We need to buy several beekeeping suits, hive equipment, honey harvesting equipment, honey jars and labels, as well as various treatments, food, and other supplements for the hives throughout the year.
I am also open to accepting donations if you have any of these supplies that you are willing to let us have. Please email me to arrange for pick-up or drop-off.
Please help to make a positive impact on the life of a child and in the words of William Wadsworth, "What we have loved, others will love, and we will teach them how."
