Stamford Stars 8U & 10U World Series 2023

My name is Samantha Quinlan I am the fundraising co chair for the Stamford Troy softball World Series fund. These dollars will be collected by me on go fund me and transferred to the Stamford Troy softball bank account where league treasurer mike Ballard will receive and manage the funds as part of our trip to the World Series.

Babe Ruth said it best, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." The Stamford Stars 8U and 10U softball teams' hard work and determination paid off each taking home the CT State Babe Ruth title in their respective divisions. The 8U girls went undefeated in the state tournament and played their hearts out and made it to the championship game in the New England regional tournament and just like Babe Ruth they never gave up and continue to work hard. The 10U girls went undefeated in both the state and regional tournaments prior to their play being cut short due to rain. Both teams' strong showings and the strength of the Stamford Stars program have earned them the invitation to play on the national stage at The Babe Ruth World Series in Jensen Beach, Florida in a few short weeks. The 10U team will be proudly representing the New England region. Both teams are excited to take their competition to the national level and look to keep their momentum going but need your help to make this happen. Please help them and their families pay for the cost of this very exciting, unforgettable trip. This is an amazing opportunity for these teams and is a big undertaking with only three weeks to plan. No contribution is too small. Any amount is appreciated, and the Stamford Stars players, coaches and families appreciate it more than you know!

All fundraising proceeds regardless of source will be pooled and allocated in the following order of priority:

• First, 100% to the league until the league has been reimbursed for any direct expenses it incurred in connection with the World Series trip;

• Second, pro rata to each unique Stars family (i.e., each family with a player on 8u, 10u or both) until each family has received its Maximum Allocation; and

• Thereafter; 100% to the league as a donation.

 

A family’s “Maximum Allocation” shall mean the sum total of the following:

 

• the cost of one hotel room at the Marriott Hutchinson Island Beach Resort from 7/26 through 8/4;

• the estimated cost of round trip flights to West Palm Beach for each player in the family and one parent;

• the estimated cost of a standard car rental in West Palm Beach from 7/26 to 8/4; and

• $[250] per player (which represents a $[25] per diem to cover a team meal each day).

 

If any expense making up a family’s Maximum Allocation is paid directly by the league, that family’s Maximum Allocation will be reduced by the amount of such expense.

 

Each team will have a fundraising chair who will account for dollars raised.
