Stan Laurel Project Blue Plaque
Donation protected
This Project is to work towards the placing of a Blue Plaque in Stockwell Street Glasgow to remember Comic Stan Laurel worked there at The Metropole Theatre, formerly known as the Scotia Music Hall, which stood right next to The Scotia Bar. It is known that as a young teenager Stan sold tickets in the Metropole where his father Arthur Jefferson was the manager. Although it is generally believed that Stan performed in the Panoptican in Glasgow as Stan Jefferson at age 16 it is still believed by many people that he actually went on stage first at the Metropole where his Dad was the manager.
