Protect Your Digital Indentity
(Join the Fight)
AI advancements threaten our privacy and consent. Fight for laws that safeguard our digital identities. Without strong laws, AI can misuse your likeness and voice.…and your voice matters.
What Is My Digital Identity?
Your digital identity is your likeness, voice, movement, and/or all biometric data originating from you, a human being. This means any pictures of you online, recordings of your voice, video...even your physical movements and your heartbeat.
What Is Digital Provenance?
Digital Provenance is a record of creation. The origin, history, and ownership of a particular piece of content, such as your voice recording, video, or image.
The Problem
Since the establishment of copyright in 1790, we’ve seen a structured approach to protecting intellectual property. However, at the dawn of artificial intelligence, digital identities are now under attack by deepfakes and labor exploitation. This digital Wild West leaves our identities vulnerable.
THE LEGISLATION
The President’s Executive Order on AI: Establishes guidelines for the safe, secure, and trustworthy development of AI technologies. Digital provenance standards are due from US agencies by June 27, 2024.
US House Bill -- The NO AI FRAUD ACT: Aims to prevent unauthorized use of digital identities, ensuring ethical use and protection of personal data. Loud support for this bill is needed to make sure companies like OpenAI, the MPA, and TechNet don’t kill the bill in committee.
State Legislation -- CA AB 3211: Mandates the use of digital watermarks and provenance data to track and verify the authenticity of AI-generated content. This bill has been actively opposed by MPA and TechNet but passed the first committee.
