Stand Against Loneliness- Graham Cullis Splat&Splash UK Tour

Hi my name is Graham Cullis I am an artist, sea swimming enthusiast, community builder and the founder of Youth Art Connect CIC (mental health art clubs for young people).

Please help my campaign to stand against loneliness and promote connection across the UK.

I need your help to raise funds for a mental health & wellness awareness tour of England Scotland & Wales which I want to start this summer 2025.

The Campaign

With the epidemic of loneliness rising in our modern society and it being a big contributor to mental health illnesses. My mission is to travel to 30 beaches north, east, south and west of England Scotland & Wales to promote a sense of connection and community.

In each location I will be teaming up and coordinating with local sea swimming/surfing communities, mental health charities and art clubs to deliver something wholesome and SPLAT- tacular

I will be setting up a small gazebo at certain times and specific beach locations, where I will let anyone who shows up to dramatically throw and splat paint on me and a blank canvas. This will be part of a participatory art creation which I will then personalise the splatted canvas into a one of a kind ocean inspired art piece also inspired by the specific beach location and community.

After I will then invite willing and prepared participants (weather conditions permitting) to try some group meditation & mindfulness followed by a mad dash into the ocean for a collective dip or surf hosted by local swimming groups & surf clubs. I will also invite local mental health charities and other inclusive community clubs to bring information to hand out and network with the crowds raising awareness for their services.

I will be documenting all this on my social media where people can follow and interact with my journey along the way.

There will be end of tour art show (venue to be determined) where we will be exhibiting and auctioning off the art pieces to raise money for Youth Art Connect CIC.

I am looking to raise at least £30000 to pay for the tour expenses for a period of 3 months on the road. I’ll need van hire/ art supplies/ food/accommodation for a team of three people /videographer & editor / marketing/ insurance and other costs for the end of tour show. Any excess donations will go towards the next project.

The objective of this campaign is to bring people together and to promote holistic activities for the community in each local area. Showing them ways of connecting with one another to stand together against this loneliness epidemic.

I also want to put Youth Art Connect CIC firmly on the map to help take the organisation into the future.
