Dear Friends and Family of AJ Cooper,
AJ was diagnosed with terminal melanoma cancer last March. It has spread to his brain, liver, both lungs, adrenal gland, and abdomen with no primary skin source. The cancer has skipped stages 1, 2, and 3 and gone straight to stage 4.
Multiple bleeding brain tumors keep growing, causing him to have multiple seizures and strokes.
He was admitted into the ICU last Saturday and remains there now.
Yo Yo has had to take leave from work to take care of their family and visit AJ in the hospital.
I will keep you updated here as Yo Yo keeps you updated on Facebook.
Post from Yo Yo:
Dear Praying Friends, On behalf of our entire family, I would like to say a very special word of thanks to each of you that have been praying for Andrew John Cooper and our family through this darkest time. Last Saturday night, Andrew John Cooper had his first seizure at home (he has multiple bleeding brain tumors that caused him to have seizures). The fire truck and ambulance picked him up and sent him to the ER. Our kids were watching and crying the whole time. He has been fighting very hard in the past 10 months. He's a warrior! He challenged 6 doses of chemotherapy and immunotherapy combo treatments in 9 months (the maximum is 4 doses; some patients got 1 dose and were already in ICU). He said sorry to me so many times; he said he's dying and he can't continue to raise our children. He just wants to have a simple life and be a good man to raise a family and watch the kids grow up. He quit smoking when Chloe was 2 years old in 2017 and quit drinking when Ellie was 2 years old in 2020. Now he's still in ICU; he had 5 seizures in the past 5 days. Today is a good day, no seizure, and his kidney function is almost back to normal. I take turns bringing our kids to visit him. Here's the card that Ellie made for him (Ellie dreamed about him and called Daddy, Daddy, and cried in the past 2 nights). I have to be strong for my family, and AJ will keep fighting till the end. We are just living day by day!
I have been asked to set up this GoFundMe for AJ’s family to get through this difficult and uncertain time.
All donations will go directly to Yo Yo and AJ, who are raising their two daughters and AJ’s nephew, Jayden.
Please feel free to reach out to Stacie at (415) [phone redacted] or myself at (707) [phone redacted] if you have any questions.
Let’s come together for our dear friends and their precious family.
