Stand by Darryl: Singing in New Orleans

Hey guys...

It's Darryl J from New Orleans! First I want to thank everybody for stopping to hear me sing and blessing me with tips...tips that somebody robbed me of! I can't even believe it---

This has been a heck of a spiral from Hurricane Ida til now... I've gone from losing my home and job to finally being able to get back on my feet somewhat by using my God-given voice to sing for y'all everyday no matter what the weather and y'all have shown me much love.

There are some good days and some not so good days because you know how the weather is down here ....there was a snowstorm here a couple of months ago that crippled the whole city, especially us musicians...then add the New Year's Eve terrorist to the mix, and we got knocked down again as all our streets got shut down allowing me nowhere to sing really. It's been a nightmarish few years. I just need a hand....

I was finally starting to see a light at the end of this years' long tunnel ...then bam ---robbed before I could get to the bank to deposit the tips I'd gotten from people all over the world!

From a very dishonest insurance company, to some dishonest lawyers, to some thieves.... I just need a break. I'm an honest guy who loves to sing and loves singing in my city when y'all come to town...music is my life...it is the light in my soul.

If ya'll can see fit to help me out so I can continue to be out here singing for ya'll and doing what I love, I would be most appreciative. Ever since a quadruple bypass singing is all I can really do...

A lot of y'all have seen me out here with my cousin, Grandpa Elliot before he passed, or singing at Cat's Meow or in front of Cafe du Monde.... I'm out here...
