Stand by Heather Gard (Dillard) and Her Family

Please help Heather fight Cancer like a champ! She is a medical support assistant at the Department of Veterans affairs taking care of our Nations Heroes so let’s help take care of her. She recently saw a doctor to find out why her headaches were getting worse and was told she had a brain tumor. She had to have surgery to remove it and when she went to her follow up, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 Cervical Cancer. Due to the complexity of her planned treatments, she will have to undergo radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy simultaneously for the next 6 weeks at which time they will re-evaluate the cancer and what treatment will be needed in the future. Heather remains upbeat with a positive outlook and for those who know her, she has a sarcastic, quirky sense of humor, just like her dad. She will be unable to work or drive and does not currently have enough sick time at work to compensate for the missed time, nor enough funds to cover things such as her medical expenses, mortgage payments, daycare, groceries, copays, medications and trips to her appointments that the insurance does not cover. She is a loving wife, daughter, sister, and mother of 2. (A son who is 22 and a 4 year old son in day care) Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated. This is just the beginning of her battle and our goal is to help take off some of that pressure so she can concentrate on getting well.
