Meet Luka. He lives with his Parents Igor and Silvana in Macedonia.
He is currently suffering from a rare disease called Retinoblastoma. This is an eye cancer that begins in the retina — the sensitive lining on the inside of your eye. Retinoblastoma most commonly affects young children, but can rarely occur in adults.
Over the last year and half, Luka has been under the care of Dr. Sarci at the Cerrahpasa School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. He has completed 3 rounds of chemo therapy, 5 cold laser treatments and 1 surgery. After the second round of chemo, Luka lost his sight. Then after battling this disease for 1 year his right eye was removed in order to stop the spreading of the cancer to his other organs.
The fight continues with the hope of beating the disease, saving his left eye and restoring his sight. He will be treated every 5 weeks in order to eliminate the tumor and end to this life threatening illness. This will be Luka's life for at least the next two years.
We would like to kindly ask anyone that has the ability and the willingness to help Luka and his family continue his medical treatment during this trying time.
Luka's family is grateful to anyone who is able to help him have the life every child deserves.
