Stand by Marcie and Billy through Marcie's Cancer Battle

Greetings! The connection and love of lifetime friends is a true gift. It is one to be cherished, treasured, and something to be forever grateful. When those friends experience challenging times, the first question that comes to mind is how we can help. As many of you know our dear friend Marcie McKague Hodges is in for the fight of her life with her husband Billy right by her side. She posted an amazing video to Facebook on February 14th that tells the story of her cancer journey that was inspirational, brave and informative.
Marcie wants quantity of life; she wants more time to spend with their lovely and loving family so she can watch her beautiful grandbabies grow and glow! Marcie is starting treatment for MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome), which will turn into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This is the first phase of treatment so she can go into remission and get the bone marrow transplant she needs. When the transplant is done, she will be at UNC and will need to be there for an extended amount of time. Billy will be there with her. They will need all the support they and we can muster.
They will have expenses associated with the long-term stay at UNC. Billy CANNOT stay in the hospital with her. The hospital does provide housing at a reduced cost, but it is not free. It can cost as much as $1,900/month. As they are focusing on the battle, other obligations have to still be met. They are fortunate to have good health insurance that will contribute greatly to Marcie's care. That insurance will not cover the incidentals. Hence, this GoFundMe effort!
Billy and Marcie are faithful, strong Christians who put their lives and decisions, their medical team, family and friends in God's hands. It is only fitting that they have approached their challenge by "PUTTING FAITH OVER FEAR".
Let's help them manage the fear and worry of finances. Their focus needs to be solely on getting well and healthy. The rest of us will focus on all the other through our love and commitment to their future and quantity of life. Please help, please give, and please keep Marcie, Billy and their sweet family in your prayers.
