Dear friends and community,

We are reaching out to ask for your help and support for a beloved member of our Jonathan Dayton High School family, Mary Hinton. For the past 9 years, Mary has been the head custodian at Jonathan Dayton, and she has dedicated herself to keeping our school clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Her work ethic, kindness, and unwavering positive spirit have made her a constant presence in our school community, and she’s touched the lives of so many students, staff, and families.

Unfortunately, Mary’s life has taken an unexpected turn.

Thirteen months ago, Mary was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Since then, she has faced extensive chemotherapy treatments, which have been both physically and emotionally challenging. But despite everything, Mary has remained strong and resilient, never letting her illness diminish her caring heart or her commitment to her job.

Her strength has inspired all of us, and we are so grateful for the way she continues to show up each day, despite the toll this situation has taken on her.

Mary is scheduled to undergo surgery in March, and she will continue with additional treatment thereafter. The road ahead is uncertain, and there will be many more obstacles for her to overcome.

In this difficult time, we want to show Mary the same love and support she has always given to others. We are creating this GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burdens that Mary is facing during her battle with cancer. The costs of medical bills, treatment, and everyday expenses are piling up, and we want to ensure that Mary can focus on her recovery without the added stress of financial strain.
