Stand by Russell: A Paramedic's Fight
Donation protected
Russell Thrasher, well known lifelong Lamar County resident, was involved in a major accident last Wednesday night, Dec. 11th. He was transported by helicopter from the scene to a Dallas area hospital where he is in trauma ICU. He has severe injuries to his right leg as well as many broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He also has bruises, cuts, and abrasions all over his body. He has already gone through multiple surgeries on his leg and ribs. The injury to his leg will require more multiple surgeries and months of rehabilitation. He is now in stable condition but in a lot of pain.
Russell has served the Lamar County area as a paramedic for 25+ years
He has been there to help so many people during critical times in their life. Thrasher has always gone above and beyond for everyone around him . He has organized multiple fundraisers for colleagues, friends and others he found who have suffered emergencies and losses.
He has been generous in his dedication to serving others.
This service hadn’t just been local. He has served on emergency management teams involving natural disasters not only in Lamar County, but also throughout Texas and the United States. He had been on hand to render aid after hurricanes and other natural disasters many times.
As he begins his lengthy recuperation it is time for all who know Russell Thrasher to give back to him and to his family as they are experiencing the expenses that go along with lengthy, away from home hospitalizations.
Please, if you can reciprocate to this man who has touched untold lives, do so.
