Stand by Sara: Support Her Family
Donation protected
Sara Thompson and I became fast friends after meeting during Zumba at the YMCA. She is a hilarious, kind human and an amazing mom. Sara was left alone during the pandemic to juggle virtual learning with the kids (Twins Jasper and Sterling, age 11 and Rowan, age 5) with a full-time job while her husband at the time was a traveling nurse.
As the pandemic subsided and Sara and the boys tried to get back to a normal life, their house was struck by the great storm of March 2023. Shortly after the storm, her husband told her he was not coming home. This action subsequently ended in their recent divorce.
Due to these unforeseen circumstances that were completely out of her control, Sara began to take an inventory of her finances and realized she had an exorbitant amount of debt that her now ex-husband had accrued during their marriage. On top of that debt, the storm in March caused $60,000 in damage to her house: $12,000 to the roof alone and a $8,000 deductible, not to mention the $1800 mortgage on her house.
This Go Fund Me is to raise money to help Sara pay for lawyer fees, house repairs, and her mortgage. Sara’s desire is to keep a sense of stability for her kids by keeping them in the house until they have completed elementary school. Sara wants to have breathing room for herself while working full time as a single mom with three kids so she can care appropriately for the kids and their needs.
Please note: When I discovered Sara’s great debt that her husband had accrued and the damage to her house after the March 2023 storms, I offered to set up this Go Fund Me account. Sara was extremely hesitant to allow me to ask for money to assist her, but I insisted this was the right thing to do. Her desire, as is every mother’s desire, is to provide a stable home to raise her boys after this huge change in their lives.
If you can find room in your heart to help Sara out this new year, please do. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. Any little bit helps.
