Stand by Taylor in Her Healing Journey

Taylor Gibson is a Billings, Montana native who has lived in Bozeman, MT for 10 years. She is a Reiki healer and worked at Copper Whiskey Bar for the last few years. Many of you know her or at least know of her due to her sweet, bubbly, outgoing nature. She can and will strike up a meaningful conversation with anybody; her ability to genuinely connect with others is arguably her greatest strength. She is a light in every room she enters, and unfortunately, someone tried to dim that light.

TRIGGER WARNING: Sexual Assault and Kidnapping

On February 26th, 2025, while on vacation in Costa Rica, Taylor’s group went surfing while she took an afternoon to herself. They had been in this small tourist town all week. During this afternoon, Taylor was drugged, abducted, and taken to a place far from the town they were in. She was raped, held captive, with plans to likely be trafficked.

Many members of the community worked through the night to discover the identity of the man, which ultimately saved her and brought her back. She was dropped off in town traumatized, bruised, and unable to speak for hours.

The group left the country and got her home the following day. Taylor desperately needed help, and fast. As miracles would have it, an inpatient holistic rehabilitation center opened a bed the day after they got back to the United States. She will be there for a month.

She is getting the expert care she needs to begin healing this trauma. This will be a long road for her, but if you know Taylor, she is grateful, hopeful, and positive. Her healing journey has begun; she will continue to need extensive therapies post-program in order to successfully re-integrate with society.

All funds raised will go directly towards the cost of Taylor’s intensive treatment so we can get this amazing soul back on her feet. My name is Madisen, I am Taylor’s partner, and I was with her on this trip. P.S. Taylor’s story exposed a group of men who had been in this town for several months, unbeknownst to the community. These men were pushed out of Limon, Costa Rica, arguably the most dangerous city in the country, for drugging and raping women. The community has taken proper steps to ensure this will not happen again, saving countless other women from this horrific experience.

When she’s ready, Taylor plans to use her experience to spread awareness on this issue. Her dream is to someday be able to support other victims in the aftermath of kidnapping, sexual assault, and trafficking.
