SCREW CANCER! Stand by Telisha

Hi,

The most recent biopsy of the leftover tumors from the last treatment showed a new type of lymphoma. It is called diffuse large B cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It is an aggressive form of lymphoma and requires immediate treatment. Telisha had this before and did chemo in 2013 which put it in remission. Now that it is back second time she has to do a different type of treatment as her cancer is showing a resistance to chemo. The new treatment is called CAR-T therapy and it is an immunotherapy treatment that has recently been FDA approved and only done at certain hospital centers.  She is waiting for insurance approval for the treatment and once that is given we will meet with the doctors that do the CAR-T therapy. She is not sure of the exact process, but it looks like a two-three month treatment timeline, which means she will be taking lots of time off work. We will know more in the next couple of weeks. Good news is she is a good candidate for this type of treatment. :)

I need to raise money as soon as possible to help pay Telisha's (My mom) medical expenses. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and has been in treatments for the last 8 YEARS! This past year her condition has been the most trying. Currently she is in STAGE 4 LYMPHOMA. She is in Trial at NIH called VIPOR. I have attached a link below that explains in more detail what the VIPOR protocol is. She has been told by the doctors that it looks like treatment is working. She has 75% reduction in tumors so far. I will keep this page updated once we find out more information from recent test results. 

However, due to all the medical treatments she has endured many hardships like most people going through a battle with cancer. She is a full time hair stylist and unfortunately does not make any money when she doesn’t work. She tries to work as much as possible, but the treatments require hospital stays and time off from work for infusions, scans, and doctor visits. Cancer is an expensive battle and she has been fighting since 2011. Long story short, she is struggling financially to pay medical bills and much more.  

All I am asking is to please SHARE her story with your friends and family in the hopes that someone with the extra funds can lend a helping hand... Watching my mother go through this battle has been heartbreaking. Sometimes I feel like there is no pain greater than being helpless in the face of a loved one's suffering. I will do anything and everything I can to help my mother pay her medical expenses so that she can focus all her energy on getting better. She is a single mom who is incredibly hardworking and kind hearted and brave! She is the strongest person I know and I am beyond proud to be her daughter.
