Hello! My name is Ryan Clark and I am reaching out for help on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law, the Cloft Family, Taylor and Jared, who just introduced our sweet little miracle, baby Harvey James Cloft, into this world.

Born on January 3, 2025, at 8:48 am. 6 lbs, 11 oz of perfection, 19.25 inches long. Harvey has continuously been making great strides at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in his first two weeks of life and plans to leave the NICU for some home comfort very soon! Praise to all who have helped Harvey get so far – doctors, nurses, God, and Harvey’s parents included.

Taylor and Jared shared the perfect words for their child below on his day of birth:

All thanks and praise go to God for this miracle child. We are all totally in love with you, Harvey. You were always meant to be here with us. Our team at Cincinnati Children’s is unmatched. We truly are in the best hands and we will be forever grateful to them for saving our son’s life.

We are both doing very well. We are unsure of how long his NICU stay will be, but we are excited to head home and ready to start our life as a family of 5 when baby boy is ready! We are very grateful and honestly just so happy he is here safe and healthy. He is currently intubated due to his jaw position, but he is on the lowest setting and we are working on the plan moving forward. Everything else, miraculously, is looking very well. He saw so many specialists on the day he was born and so many tests were run. We were told so much about Harvey before he was born, but he truly is showing us what he is made of and proving doctors wrong.

Harvey means battle-worthy, capable of inspiring great endurance, resilience, and courage, and that is exactly who he is. He has defied ALL odds and is an absolute warrior.

James - James 1:2-4, a favorite Bible passage. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Harvey James is named after my dear grandfather James Spicer, who is one of the greatest men we know.

As you can see, Taylor and Jared are so excited and blessed to have a third boy – as are we! I’ll share some brief words about my family.

My sister Taylor has a heart of gold and is courageous and brave. She has shown incredible strength during this journey of bringing a child with limb deformity and unknown health issues into this world. Others will agree that she is a great mother and sister.

My brother Jared is strong and is a leader and a protector. He is a role model father, husband, and brother, and is going to have the time of his life raising their three energetic boys. He is a hard-working man who will do what is needed for his family. It is probably a hidden blessing that he was impacted by the recent automotive layoffs as Harvey and his family need him during these first challenging months.

The Cloft Family had to suddenly move closer to Cincinnati and they are navigating these unknowns with beautiful grace. It is critical that we show our support to the Clofts during this difficult time. They are doing everything that is needed to ensure Baby Harvey lives his best life, and that is inspiring. These first few months are important for Jared to be at home with his growing family. I ask the community to show their support to limit the Cloft’s financial stress while they must focus on Harvey’s health plan.
