Stand by Vanbasten: Aid His Healing Path

My name is Stephanie Surpris and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my 13-year-old godson Vanbasten Joseph and his family.

On Tuesday, February 25, he was seriously injured in school during a gym session. He was rushed to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, NY. He ended up with both knees injured, called bilateral tibial tubercle fractures, which require extensive surgery to repair the damage. The next day, surgery was performed, and everything went pretty great, thank God for that. Now he will be bed-bound for about 4 weeks, meaning that he cannot leave the bed because both legs have to stay straight until further notice from the orthopedic. He will require lots of physical therapy and also will need ambulance transport to visit the doctor's office. I know medical bills will be coming the family's way very soon, and before they have to deal with that additional stress, I'm asking for the community to help this family.
