Stand by Yogesh: Community Support Needed

Yogesh needs our help! Yogesh is a Wayne State University graduate student, a Detroit resident, and a friend and colleague who has spent the recent years dedicating his career to biomedical research.

Yogesh is a dear friend to many. He has been an active member of the WSU community, and many students look up to him. One student has said, “I am inspired by Yogesh’s hard work, not only about his research but by his outreach and dedication to helping others”.

Unexpectedly, in a matter of hours Yogesh had his visa revoked and lost his stipend. He was in his 4th year of his PhD program and abruptly is not allowed to continue. He no longer has a source of income to support his family of wife and a son. Many are devastated by this news and the challenges Yogesh now faces. We are supporting him and his family by providing financial support for rent, food, supplies, and unexpected bills.
