Hoyt’s Road to Justice: Support Needed for Legal Costs

Donation protected

My thoughts are ugly and sad and honestly, disappointed. When we picked Henry School, we thought, smaller school, so less likely to run into things like this. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case; it happens everywhere, and it happened here.

Hoyt came home from football practice last night with a story I never expected to hear. He told me that he and two of his friends have been targeted for horrible acts of hazing because they aren’t “starters” on their JH football team.
For 4 days a week, 20 mins each way, these boys were beaten with the metal part of the seat belt buckle, whipped by the seat belt, made to sit on the floor while the bus driver drove recklessly at high rates of speed. Hoyt, in particular, was shoved into the back corner of the bus by the emergency exit while other older boys violently threw their FB equipment on top of him, along with other disgusting things that went unreported for WEEKS!
We, as mothers, confronted the school today, and as far as I know, the boys that have been accused have somewhat confessed, and the school has removed the accused from the team. They won’t be participating in any homecoming activities. Two of the “A-holes” are not allowed to be around Hoyt and the other boys, but one of the boys doesn’t seem to have any disciplinary action, and that concerns me.
We are moving forward with charges of hazing and assault, and I hope we can make them stick, but I’m feeling doubtful. Hoyt is still playing football, and that isn’t gonna change.

I’m blaming a few bad ones in the Henry school district, but I’m sure hoping that they will be able to change my mind in the coming days.

I’m asking for donations as we seek legal counsel to bring justice to our son Hoyt! As of right now, we are only looking at being able to bring misdemeanor charges to the teammates and possibly no charges to the bus driver. Meaning these pukes could absolutely get away with this and continue to do this to other people’s kids! I can’t let that happen.
