Fall injuries among older adults are a public health crisis. According to the CDC, more than 800,000 seniors are hospitalized each year due to fall injuries. In 2015, the total cost of fall injuries was more than $50 billion.

Jay Davenport, M.D , a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, has designed a wearable tech solution--a “smart” vest--that will reduce the risk of injury from falls.

The SAF-T VEST, by Davenport SAF-T Systems, will  help seniors avoid fall injuries and remain independent and physically active for longer and later in life.

That's why our three-person start-up has already invested more than $30,000 of our own money and thousands of hours  to further develop our concept and protect our idea.

The SAF-T VEST is a lightweight, personal airbag system that provides 360-degree fall protection. This comfortable vest is equipped with tiny sensors detect an unrecoverable fall in progress. The airbags inflate in a fraction of a second to absorb the impact of the fall. Fracture-prone areas of the body including the hips, back, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and head are protected as the airbags quickly deflate.

Potential investors love our solution, but they want to see more.  They want to see prototypes.  So do we! Our partners at Caztek Engineering  are ready to build 1st generation prototypes that will demonstrate the incredible potential of the SAF-T VEST.
