Stand up for Urias Gbarjolo

Hello my name is Valiaku Kargbo, President of the Liberian Association of Iowa. I am doing this fundraiser for a young promising man in our community Urias Gbarjolo who passed away under misterious circumstances on May 27, 2023. Urias Gbarjolo was born on May 10, 2002. He was a track star for Valley West High School and holds a state record for the shuttle hurdle. That record still stands today. Urias was also going into his senior year at the University of Dubuque. He was on the track team and previously on the football team. Urais was an athlethic scholar. He had already secured a full scholarship at Harvard University to do his Masters after graduation. Urias Gbarjolo was a young man with a full life ahead of him and big dreams. He was a proud to his parents and community. Urias was a very easy going individual, love his family and taking pictures. Urias had a very loving relationship with his father and mother Alexander and Theresa Gbarjolo. He also loved his sibiling. Urias was setting a very good example for his brothers and sisters to follow. Unfortunately, the big dreams and vision of Urias came crashing down when some friends picked him up from his family home in Johnston, IA on the afternoon of May 27. He was getting dressed to attend the wedding of his uncle with his sister. Urias did not make it to the wedding. Few hours after being picked up by his friends, his family was notified by one of his friends that he drowned at the Red Rock lake in Iowa. Urias body was found the next day at the banks of the river. Circumstances leading to Urias drowning is very suspicious. His friend are giving conflicting account and authorities do not seem to want to investigate beyond the drowning. Urias family is very devasted at this point. This very close knit family is tramatized. Losing a promising young son in this manner is taking a toll on this family. This family needs answers. We are asking you all to please donate to the burial of Urias Gbarjolo, and also aide in the investigation. We are want to do an independent autopsy and investigation of circumstances leading to Urias death at Red Rock Lake. Urias was an outstanding you man. He had big plans for his future. He has no voice to speak for himself so we should speak for him. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers as they go through these difficult times.
