Stand with Abdul Raouf’s Family and Help Them to Survive
Donation protected
I am organizing this fundraiser for Abdul Raouf Sawan and his wife Farah and their family. I am part of a collective who is fundraising for them to support their safe passage out of Gaza and their daily survival. All funds donated will reach Abdul Raouf and Farah through myself and will be saved for them to use to pay the appropriate authority for their family, consisting of 10 members, to leave Gaza. Funds will be also be transferred for use by their family to ensure that their basic needs are met and that food, water, medicine, warm clothing and supplies can be secured.
Abdul Raouf and his family are currently living in a tent made of wool blankets, nylon and wood. During their displacement, they have had a beautiful daughter.
On December 3rd, 2023, their lives changed forever:
Life was beautiful and the whole world was fine... I would go to work early in the morning like every other day... suddenly! I find myself in a nightmare that I don't know how to wake up from.... My name is Abdul Raouf Sawan from Gaza, and this is my story.. I am 23 years old, married, and I have a daughter who works and works hard for my family, sisters, and wife.. Life before the war was enough for me, but when the war came, it ruined everything.. ...a job and a source of income...the war came while we were in the south...our house became occupied with many displaced persons. There were 150 people inside the house, including relatives... and the residential area we were in was threatened and we were forced to move to the city of Rafah. The first displacement to me was on 12/3/2023 to Rafah. We sat in a school and of course the situation was very bad, hunger, thirst and oppression to leave the house. I have many sweet memories. There is...and I don't know how I want to work and get money to feed my family, 22 people are my sponsors, and for your information. I am the firstborn of my family...and I was displaced for the second time from Rafah to Mawasi Khan Yunis after the occupation forced us to move from the city of Rafah to the beach of Khan Yunis. I made a tent made of wood and nylon and sat in it. During this period, I received news that my house had been completely demolished and the amount of pain, oppression and suffering increased greatly. Then I despaired of life and began to wish for death, but in reality we are dead in the shadow of war and lack of food and drink. And treatment and children who have diseases due to low immunity, lack of education, health care, healthy food and polluted water... God willing, the war will end and we will rest... But in light of the period that I am living in, I hope that you will help me so that I can provide food for my family and my infant daughter. Thank you. Please help me Thank you very much
My child and my beloved Rana, she was born during the war, and I was not able to provide her with all that she deserved: Pampers, milk, clothes, and appropriate warmth for her. I truly look at her and cry for what she suffered from this war.
I really need to collect donations, help my family, and keep us alive until we can leave Gaza and travel to a country that will contain us. I am really very tired.
The number of people that this campaign will invite is 10 people. Initially, the goal will be set at 50,000 Canadian dollars, knowing that for each person who needs to travel, an adult or a minor, he needs 7,000 US dollars.
Cost breakdown:
The goal will be adjusted as needs arise and to reflect changing costs of goods and necessities.
The organizer will transfer funds for basic needs as necessary to compete with rising costs of food and goods while humanitarian aid is stifled and the border blockaded.
Fresh meat, fruit and vegetables are not available for long periods. When available their cost is very high.
A kilo of tomatoes can cost $50 US.
A kilo of potatoes can cost $100 US.
A kilo of beef can cost $150 US.
A smaller bag of flour used to cost 25 shekels or $8 US. Now, it’s available size is 25kg which costs $300-400 US. Flour is frequently unavailable due to the blockade. People in Gaza depend on flour to make bread which is a daily staple.
A box of milk formula costs $100 US.
Funds raised by this fundraiser will support Abdul Raouf and Farah and their family to have a variety of food beyond canned goods from humanitarian aid.
Costs will be updated as they change.
Travel Cost Breakdown:
The $50,000 USD raised (our goal will adjust with time and expenses and to account for the conversion to the Canadian dollar, putting it more at $90,000) will cover the $5000 travel cost per person for 10 family members:
Abdel Raouf (23 yo)
Farah (20 yo)

Sakher (father 49 yo)
Rana (mother 48 yo)
Yasmine (sister 24 yo)
