Stand with Amanda: Save BarBeeQue from Mattel

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Amazing Supporters,

I never imagined that my small, family-owned BBQ business would be in a legal battle with a giant corporation like Mattel. But here I am, fighting for the name I built with love and dedication. My name is Amanda, a proud black southern mom, one of Atlanta’s trailblazing female pit masters, and the owner of Amanda’s BarBeeQue. I started this business in 2017 to support my family, share great food made from my family’s secret Georgia-style BBQ sauce recipe, and give back to our community.

“BarBeeQue” isn’t just a name—it’s a tribute to my grandmother’s delicious, honey-sweet BBQ sauce, a recipe passed down through generations. It’s part of my family’s history, and it means everything to me. But now, Mattel claims my business name is too close to their famous “Barbie” doll, and they’re trying to stop me from using it.

I’m a small business owner. I don’t have the millions of dollars Mattel does to fight a legal battle. But I do have something Mattel doesn’t—a community that believes in supporting small businesses like mine, and a story worth fighting for.

This legal fight isn’t just about a name. It’s about standing up for family-run businesses everywhere that refuse to be bullied by corporate giants. It’s about protecting the legacy of hard-working moms and entrepreneurs, like me, who are just trying to provide for their families and share something special with their communities.

I need your help. The legal costs to defend my business are overwhelming, and I simply can’t afford it on my own. That’s why I’m asking you, my community, to stand with me. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to the legal fees needed to fight back and keep Amanda’s BarBeeQue alive.

If you believe in supporting small businesses, in standing up to corporate bullies, and in preserving the heritage of family traditions, please donate today. With your help, I can protect the name of Amanda’s BarBeeQue and continue serving the community I love.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for standing with me in this fight. And if you ever find yourself in Fayetteville, GA, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello. I’d love to meet ya and share some BarBeeQue goodness!

With all my gratitude,

Amanda
