Carisa's Appeal: Help My Mom Rebuild After Fraud

Hello-

I would like to introduce myself and my mother.

My name is Carisa Kelly and I am working to raise funds for my mother, Barb Putnam who was the victim of massive fraud this past summer. She was victim to an ever expanding criminal enterprise, to some known as Pig Butchering or Tech Scams.

Barb was known to many as the grandmother of wrap around services for children in foster care in Washington State. A lifetime public servant my mother worked tirelessly in the private and public sector to make sure that kids were given the care that they needed. A single mother herself I watched her as a small child attend grad school at the University of Washington, working to pull her small family out of poverty.

My mom worked hard and achieved the american dream. She changed her life and was able to buy and pay off a home while creating a nest egg for her retirement. That came crashing down when my mom fell prey to a sophisticated criminal ring that preys mostly on the elderly that have savings. A tech scam that involved re-routing calls to her trusted financial advisors, impersonating federal officials, and finally lead to my mother liquidate her savings into gold coins.

No red flags raised at her financial investment firm or her bank $300,000 dollars turned into gold coins in a matter of days.

Only to find out the crushing news banks are not required to help the victims and replaced the lost funds.

This is not the american dream.

Please help us as we work to make my mother whole again. We are fighting to change the laws that are allowing such crimes to occur from the criminals to the banks and any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
