Stand with Bruce and Lisa: Urgent Support Needed

Bruce and Lisa have always jumped into action when friends and family are in need. We can count on them to show up, provide a shoulder to lean on, and above all, love us when we need them. Now it’s time to return the support, and we need your help!

At the end of December 2023, an incident sent Bruce to the ER. While waiting for the all-clear to go home, he and Lisa received some shocking test results — Bruce had a brain tumor. As you can imagine, they were devastated.

With little time to process what was happening, Bruce underwent surgery to remove the tumor. A biopsy indicated it was a grade 4 glioblastoma — a highly aggressive type of brain cancer with a poor prognosis.

Bruce’s medical oncologist immediately connected him with a team at Duke University to explore clinical trials to help slow the disease and provide an increased quality of life for Bruce. The Duke medical team recommended that Bruce complete a 6-week course of radiation and oral chemotherapy before beginning clinical trials. A year later and Bruce is continuing treatment. As you can imagine, it has been a difficult year with both financial and emotional struggles.

Bruce has been unable to work over the past year. As a result, they have lost their primary source of income. They are now left to battle this terrible disease with little support. As a result, Bruce and Lisa need immediate financial assistance for continued medical treatment, accumulated medical expenses, household expenses, and other necessities are needed.
