Stand with Cathy: A Beloved Teacher’s Cancer Journey.

Cathy Jones, a lifetime member of the Homewood-Flossmoor community, needs your support. Growing up in Flossmoor and attending Homewood-Flossmoor High School, Cathy has firm roots in our community. When her daughter, Kiersten, was younger, Cathy was a dedicated dance-mom, and now Cathy is supporting her from afar as Kiersten is a school counselor in Florida. Cathy has now transitioned to hockey-mom to her son, Tyler. You’ll see her cheering on the St. Jude Knights at all of his games. As dedicated as she is as a mom, she has also poured as much heart and soul into her students for over 30 years. She puts endless energy into helping kids, organizing field trips, and creating memorable learning for Churchill kids. Beyond her care for students, she is the first to jump in and support colleagues. She is a mentor teacher helping new teachers adjust to a demanding and rewarding job. She puts in extra hours working on committees to better our school. Cathy is the first to step in when a colleague needs help. It is now our turn to help show support to this amazing wife, mother, teacher, and friend. Cathy was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and could use your help to offset medical bills.
