Stand with Christian and Sara: Heart Hope
Donation protected
Christian and his wife, Sara, are facing a challenging time and need our support and prayers. Christian is navigating a journey that no one should have to endure, especially at such a young age.
I’ve known Christian since he was just seven years old. At the time, I was fifteen and had recently moved to Virginia from Texas. Our connection began when I met him, his mother Sheree—who has become like family to me as Aunt Sheree over the past 27 years—his late grandmother, who immediately felt like my own, and his baby sister Myah. Living in the same building, I became their babysitter, though Christian humorously insists he was already “grown” at seven!
Christian and his family hold a special place in my heart. Now, as he and Sara face this challenging time together, I ask you to join me in offering your support. Whether through donations, prayers, or sharing their story with your friends and family, every gesture can make a meaningful difference. Let’s come together to help them through this difficult time.
Chris's Journey:
Christian is a 36-year-old business owner who’s been living with congestive heart failure for eight years. In 2017, Chris suffered a heart attack and underwent quintuple bypass surgery. He’s had a pacemaker defibrillator implanted, as well as several stents placed in the arteries of his heart, which have all closed. Chris’s heart is currently functioning below 20 percent.
During his recovery, life changed significantly for Chris, and he took the time to refocus his energy on starting his own business. He turned his love for cooking into a thriving catering business, Dang Dats Delicious. In 2023, a year and a half after his move from Virginia to Texas, he and his wife, Sara, opened a food truck. Despite living with stage 4 congestive heart failure, he has continued to bring joy through his incredible food.
It started with a cheesecake, and he has expanded his menu to include much more—egg rolls, wings, and amazing desserts. Now, as his condition has progressed, Chris is in the process of being placed on the heart transplant list. Depending on the medical treatment plan chosen by his doctors and the hospital board, he may need to undergo two more open-heart surgeries (a heart pump implantation and/or a heart transplant).
One of his medical requirements is the ability to purchase his medications and receive 24-hour care for one to two months during his recovery. It would greatly help his wife and give Chris peace of mind to be able to meet these needs without financial burden.
If you find it in your heart to support Chris, Sara, and their family during this time, they would deeply appreciate your prayers and any support you are able to give.
