Support Coach Rich Sutherland in His Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
For decades, Rich Sutherland has been more than just a coach—he’s been a mentor, a leader, and a friend to so many in the soccer community. From CFC to Trumbull High School, MSC, and beyond with CT Sports Network and CT Soccer Network, Rich has dedicated his life to the game and the people who love it.
Now, Rich is facing a challenge far tougher than any match. On January 8th, he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. His first surgery is scheduled for February 27th, and while we don’t yet know all the details of his treatment plan, we do know this: Rich is determined to get back on the field as soon as possible. He’ll be in the hospital for about a week, with the rest of his recovery at home, and a second surgery planned in 3-5 months—strategically scheduled, of course, around his coaching commitments.
Right now, doctors believe the cancer is contained, but we won’t know if additional treatment is needed until after surgery and further testing. In the meantime, we want to support Rich the way he has always supported his players, colleagues, and friends. The funds raised will help cover medical expenses, recovery costs, and any unexpected challenges along the way.
Every donation—big or small—will make a difference in helping Rich focus on healing without financial stress. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Let’s rally together and show Coach Rich the same dedication and passion he’s always given to the game and his players. Thank you for your support!
