Stand with Emilia: Aid for Flood Recovery

Dear Friends, Community, and Generous Strangers,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and an urgent plea for help. One of our beloved Petbar employees, Emilia, has suffered an unimaginable loss due to a sudden flash flood that swept through Miami this past Wednesday. In just a few moments, she lost almost everything she had worked so hard to build.

Emilia and her family arrived in Miami with little more than hope and determination. Through hard work and perseverance over the past two years, they managed to create a home and build a life for themselves. Tragically, the flood has left them without a place to live, stripped of their furniture, appliances, and even their basic necessities. The flood happened so fast that by the time they arrived home, it was too late. They couldn't drive to their building in Biscayne Lake Gardens because all the streets were flooded, and traffic was terrible. They had to walk to recover whatever they could, and it was just clothes that were salvageable.

Despite the challenges of the last few days and having almost nothing left, Emilia and her family have kept a positive attitude, believing that all is material and that they can work hard to recover from this tragedy.

We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to help Emilia and her family get back on their feet. Their immediate needs are urgent: They need to secure a new place to live and replace all of their lost furniture, appliances, and food supplies. The estimated cost to cover these urgent needs is substantial, and we hope to raise enough funds to provide them with a fresh start.

Una de nuestras queridas empleadas de Petbar, Emilia, ha sufrido una pérdida inimaginable debido a la repentina inundación que azotó Miami el pasado miércoles. Emilia y su familia llegaron a Miami con poco más que esperanza y determinación.
