Stand with Eric in His Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Tria Biltz. I have an amazing friend and coworker named Eric Calderon-Phangrath who is in need of help either through monetary donations, prayers, and or shares. Anything is greatly appreciated. Here’s his story:

February 2023, my life forever changed. I went to the hospital for complications with my heart. Doctors discovered a tumor and immediately ordered a biopsy. It turned out to be cancerous and after a few weeks, the medical team determined it was cardiac cancer.

When I first found out, I immediately began to think of a plan for treatment. I let my immediate family know and then my closest friends. It’s been a journey.

I started chemo, but then was taken off of it. It was making things worse. I was then referred out to a medical team in Stanford who started a treatment plan for me; It wasn’t effective. So, they presented my medical diagnosis to some researchers who then presented me with a clinical trial.

I’ve been on that trial ever since.

This year for Teacher’s Appreciation Week, I’m asking for help to pay for, what should be my last and final clinical trial treatment.

The funding for my clinical trial ran out in October 2023. Therefore, since October 2023, I’ve pulled out nearly $72,000 in loans to pay for my treatments and I don’t know if I’ll be approved for any more at this point.

I have health insurance, but that only pays for routine care associated with my clinical trial, not the trials itself.

When funding ran out, my doctors asked if I wanted to continue to trials or stop them and explore other forms of treatment. I chose to continue to trials because it is and has been working.

They say you can’t put a price tag on your life, but the reality is, there’s a price tag; a very costly one.

You always see me on here husseling for my students and school, but I’ve never been one to ask for something for myself. I don’t know if it’s my pride or how I was raised, but I was taught to give rather than to receive.

However, time is of the essence and I have to keep up with my trials.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. If you can donate anything, that would be great. If you can’t, that’s okay too. I know you’re rooting me on to beat this cancer, even from a distance.

Much love, always and forever… ❤️
