Stand with Gaspard Family Through Health Crises
Donation protected
Dear friends and family members of Nikki and Terp Gaspard. This GoFundMe donation has been created to help offset the cost of medical expenses and travel for the Gaspard family.
My name is Karyn. I am the sister of Terp and Nikki. I need all of our family and friends to please take some time to read this short story regarding why I am reaching out for assistance for the Gaspard family.
As you all may already know, in November of 2023, Terp had a massive heart attack. He coded 6 times and had 3 surgeries within 48 hours. The type of heart attack he had is called a widow maker because only 12% of people who experience this survive. Miraculously, Terp was blessed to be a part of the 12% who survived. Terp was finally cleared to return to work at the end of February 2024. The family is still trying to recover financially since Nikki and Terp were not working during this time.
However, 8 months later, his recovery is ongoing. Last week, at a follow-up visit, Terp was informed he needed a follow-up surgery to repair or replace a leaky valve. The recovery time is expected to be at least 3 months.
His wife, Nikki, has been instrumental in his recovery and care. She promptly started making arrangements for his care and recovery. While making sure all his needs and the needs of their three beautiful children (Arya 8, Jeremiah 8 and Jonah 1) will be met during this time, she received news that her mammogram showed a mass that may be cancer. Nikki had to have a biopsy done right away.
The day after being told Terp has to have surgery, Nikki received the results of her biopsy. Nikki has been diagnosed with DCIS-Ductal Carcinoma in situ. She now has to have a lumpectomy and will have to complete radiation treatment.
During this time, Nikki and Terp will not be able to work. For this reason, I am asking you all to please assist me in raising the funds needed for the Gaspard family to make it through this tough time. I implore you all to please help. No contribution is too small.
