Stand with Gavin Jones in His Time of Need

This is my Godson/Nephew, Gavin Jones. He is one of the most loving, caring, and sweetest souls that I have ever known. If you talk to anyone that knows him, or has ever met him, even for the first time, you will know exactly what I mean. An unimaginable tragedy just happened to him and his family last Thursday, September 19th. His father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

His father was the sole provider for the household while his mom, my sister, left her career 20 years ago to be a stay-at-home mom to raise Gavin and his older sister, Siobhan. Needless to say, Gavin and his family have a long, hard road ahead of them now without a father and husband.

Over the last 2 years, Gavin has already had to endure other very difficult life changes. About 2 years ago, he had to move out of the house that he grew up in and always knew. It now looks like he will have to move again. The school that he was attending from kindergarten to 10th grade he had to move from as well. He started a new school at the start of Junior year, which is where he is now.

Gavin is working on his dream of going to college right now but will inevitably be faced with financial challenges since his family's sole provider is no longer with us.

None of this is his fault and it would be hard for anyone to deal with, but even more so for a 17-year-old. Yet Gavin keeps his head high, continues to try to smile, and will give you the longest, warmest, and strongest hug when you see him.

I keep thinking about how much more I can help my beloved Godson, knowing that I cannot do it all by myself and the help of our family. Please consider helping me to help him. I truly believe it would mean the world to him. I know it would to me.
