Helen Sinlao Austria Against Multiple Myeloma

All her life, she has always put everyone else’s needs first before her own. That’s my mother, Helen Sinlao Austria. Now, with a hopeful heart, we ask for your help.

My mom is not one to talk about herself even if she felt ill. Until one day while on a trip to the Philippines, she started feeling dizzy and her blood pressure was high. She was admitted to the the local hospital. A series of blood tests and transfusions were done. Family members were going to different blood banks in different cities to find a match. She was finally moved to St. Lukes Hospital. Only then did we find out that she has Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood cancer that affects the bone marrow. She has already started treatments and will be needing a series of chemotherapy treatments and a bone marrow transplant. We are trying to get her back on Guam to continue treatments which are covered by her insurance. But there are a few complications that would make it difficult for her to travel and be with her whole family.

Our whole family, her brothers, and her sisters are asking you to please help us fight this cancer with my mom. The funds will be towards all medical and travel expenses needed to continue her treatments.
