Stand with Hernan in His Battle with Cancer

I am Ivette Perez, mother of Hernan A Gomez Jr. He is a 34-year-old loving father of 2 amazing little boys 8 and 4 years old. On March 8th 2024, he went to the emergency room with severe right rib, abdominal and right shoulder pain. In the ER he was diagnosed with suspectef metastatic liver disease. After his biopsy, he followed up with oncology who confirmed he has Intrahepatic metastatic cholangiocarcinoma, which has traveled to his lymph nodes causing him tumors in his periportal region. To make matters worse he also has Ascites, a condition that causes him to have swelling in his lower legs, shortness of breath, sense of fullness, vomiting, severe abdominal swelling and fatigue. On April 21st, I rushed him to the hospital due to severe swelling and chest discomfort. He was admitted for 5 days. On Monday the 29th of April, his Chemotherapy journey begins. I am creating a Go-fund me page to help him with medical expenses not covered by his insurance, financial help with everyday day to day expenses like rent, car repairs, and food and caring for his family. This has been emotionally, physically and financially hard on him and his family. You don’t know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. Facing cancer is an incredibly tough journey, filled with so many uncertainties and emotions. Wondering how you are going to pay rent and provide for your family is the last thing I want him to worry about in his current limited physical ability and state of mind.
