Stand with HuffPost Workers Impacted by Job Cuts
Donation protected
This week, HuffPost was hit by devastating job cuts which saw over 20% of our newsroom eliminated. We are heartbroken at the loss of so many talented colleagues and friends, many of whom have dedicated themselves to the company for a decade or more.
The HuffPost Union is grateful to have industry-leading severance language in our collective bargaining agreement, protections our union siblings fought for diligently and tirelessly.
Given the uncertain state of the media industry and ongoing cuts to America's already woefully under-resourced social safety net, however, we want to do as much as possible to help our colleagues who have been impacted by these job cuts.
With these funds, we hope to ease the financial burden that these cuts have placed on our colleagues, especially those caring for or expecting children, dealing with health conditions or grappling with uncertainties around their legal status.
Now more than ever, workers in the media industry and beyond need to come together in solidarity and take care of one another. Please consider donating to this fund to help support our friends and colleagues in this transition.
All funds raised will be distributed in equal amounts to those who opt-in to receive funds.
In the coming days, the HuffPost Union will circulate a form where impacted workers can sign up to receive funds. Watch this space for updates.
