Stand with JaVonte's Family in Their Grief

My name is Troy Smith, and I am the older cousin of JaVonte' D. Smith. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of his family (Father, Mother, and siblings) to help pay for the medical expenses and memorial cost from Von's untimely passing.

Von was taken from us on April 24th, 2024, at 8:24pm by a senseless act of gun violence and was kept on a ventilator for 2 days, on April 26th he was removed from life support. I am asking our community to come together to help my family out in this time of need. Von was an outgoing person, that was filled with life, loved hard, with all his heart, was goofy and determined. Von may not have made all the right decisions up until this point, but he was only 19 years old and had the rest of his life to correct any of his past mistakes. I watched my young cousin grow up throughout the years and for me to have to create this fundraiser for him is truly heartbreaking. Von was not only a brother, cousin and son he was the father of a beautiful little girl that he loved very much. JaVonte' is loved by so many people not just his family and he will be missed by many more.
