My name is Jessica Martinez. I’m 37 years old. I was born with a rare disease Neurofibromatosis. My life has been rough since the day I was born. I’ve been in and out of hospitals, clinics, and have had multiple surgeries. I can say I have been through a lot, but with prayer, hope, and faith I’m still standing.
Never thought I could conceive children and I am happy to say that God gave me the ability to have my handsome boy. I have beat cancer twice. I could say I’m a living miracle.
This summer I began to lose weight and not able to stand, or walk anymore. I can’t move one hand at all anymore either. I depend on my family to feed me and clean me.
In August I went to the hospital and was admitted and in September I received the worst news anyone can hear. I have stage 4 lung cancer. Doctors say it’s terminal there is no more hope for me and I will die. I was sent home on hospice.
There is so much I still have to do. I want to watch my son grow. I want to run after my nieces and nephews. I want to hang out with my siblings. I still have places to go and see.
I want to ask for help because if my time has come and the end is here. I want to help raise money that is what I can do. I can see the pain in my family eyes. I don’t want them to struggle. I don’t want them to hurt.
I don’t want to accept my time has come. I am afraid of the uncertainty of my time but I want to continue to fight for my son, for my family, for my loved ones. I want to live.
I ask for your support, for your prayers for me and my family .
With love,
Jessica Martinez
