Stand with Joelle in Her Custody Battle

My name is Joelle and I’m raising money for a lawyer to help protect me during my custody battle with my abusive ex-boyfriend. On December 6th, he attacked me and left me with a mild concussion, strangulation marks, and missing/cracked teeth. Since then, I have been in a fight to keep my daughter, Sanaa, with me as my ex is lashing out at me for getting him arrested and a protection order against him.

I have spent almost $10k of my own money securing housing, paying off the car shared between us, and finding legal help. I tried to use the resources around me but I have exhausted that as they have no pro bono lawyers available. With my upcoming trial date in July, I will need the expertise of a lawyer so that I can make sure all decisions are made fairly and justly.

I am also a part time graduate student and working full time while taking care of my kids.
