Stand with Journee's Family Through Tragedy
Donation protected
I am a close friend of Billy & Michelle Fleece of Hedgesville. Their beautiful daughter Journee was born in June of 2022. She seemed to be a happy & healthy baby for the first 5 months... and that is when the health issues started. Journee was sent to the hospital and her conditions had the doctors baffled. After many tests and procedures it was determined that she had a rare condition called Infantile Onset Multisystem Autoimmune Disease STAT3 Gain of Function. She has had multiple blood transfusions, 2 bone marrow transplants (one of which the donor was her 7 year old brother). Her body did respond to those transplants as the medical professionals had expected. Her lungs started struggling, as did heart as her blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar, and kidneys. She began dialysis, and was eventually sedated in hopes that her body would begin the long process of healing. As a final ditch effort to get her cell count and body healed of this horrible disease a T Cell transplant was performed on December 5th. Unfortunately her body responded negatively and her mother and father were faced with a decision that no parent should ever have to make. Her organs began failing, and the hopes in bringing their little girl home was diminished. After consulting with physicians 12/12/24 her parents made the difficult decision of removing life support. Journee gained her wings shortly after.
Though the reality of their daughters pain and suffering was over ... now comes the hardest part! While no amount of money can give them their sweet baby girl back... it can help to ease the financial hardship of giving Journee a proper resting place.
This is such a hard time of the year anyway, and with this added to their plate... the hurt keeps piling up. Let alone explaining to Journee's 2 little brothers ( 4 year old & 7 year old) why their sister is not coming home.
