Stand with Kachira's Twins in this Health Battle
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kachira I'm a mom of 4 boys. Ages 7, 3, and two 17 month olds. The beginning of March the twins, Loxley and Torben started to break out in the Chicken Pox. They just a month before that had the Varicella and the MMR vaccine. Things started to get hard to manage so I brought them both to Barbara Bush at Maine Med. There they both have gone through a slew of infections from the Chicken Pox. Loxley has only ever been on oxygen, but Torben needed surgery and to be intubated for 3 days during their 3 week stay. It became too much for the hospital and we were referred to Boston Children's Hospital since April 1st. There we figured out they have a Rare Immunodeficiency called Nik deficiency. Their immune system cannot learn to fight viruses. Hence, why they got Chicken pox and some MMR from the vaccine. They now are just over 2 months are undetectable amounts of the viruses. Loxley right now is having fevers with no explanation. He is due to have a bone marrow transplant in the next month. Torben has been fighting for his life for the past two weeks intubated and on ecmo (the highest form of life support) while they try everything they can think of without making more risks. Once Torben is back to a healthy spot he will also go through a bone marrow transplant.
I started this GoFundMe to help raise the expenses I have going down there every weekend, and also some of my bills as I will be staying down there alot this summer due to appointments they will have after the transplant. Any Donation will help. Thank you. Other fundraisers are being looked into, stay tuned.
