Stand with Kayla in Her Son's Recovery Journey

Hi! My name is Kayla, and I am the mother to a beautiful 1 year old baby boy. Recently he sustained injuries while at daycare from abuse and negligence. This incident is the second daycare

negligence incident in less than 5 months between two different daycares. My son is normally a very social and playful kid. But this has caused him to be more clingy than usual to his dad and I.

Besides myself not trusting anyone at this point, I’m noticing he himself is more hesitant when it comes to being approached by adults, a lot more jumpy, and wanting me to pick him up when someone enters the room. Besides the physical harm he dealt with, I am now worried about the emotional trauma that he possibly may be dealing with but just isn’t at the age yet to know how to express it.

I had to take a very short term unpaid leave of absence from work, so I’m not only available for his future appointments, but also so he isn’t rushed into being left with someone he isn’t comfortable with. While I have such a great support system at home, it can still be stressful for one person to try and manage the household. I’m hoping to have one less thing to worry about while we figure our next steps for our son.
